Volunteers
Volunteers are an engaging group of friends and neighbors who assist staff by monitoring properties, participating in work parties and special events, and sometimes organizing and leading educational field trips.

Ways People Can Help
Volunteer Land Stewards visit a Land Bank preserve on a regular basis. They have the opportunity to become intimately familiar with a particular Land Bank preserve. Work party volunteers help with property restoration projects such as pulling noxious weeds and reforestation. Office volunteers provide administrative support, ie. helping with monthly mailings or database updates. Please give us a call if you would like to volunteer or download the Volunteer Information Sheet and return it to the Land Bank office. Your interest in volunteering is welcome!

King Sisters Preserve Trail Improvements
August 25, 26, 27, and 28 and September 1st, 3rd, 8th, and 10th.
10am - 3pm

Parking for the work parties is at the pullout at the intersection of San Juan Valley Rd. and Wold Rd. across from the entrance to the Animal Inn. Alternatively there is also an inset gate midway along the property approximately 1/4 mile to the east of the intersection. Click here to view map.

What: August 25th & 26th - Six "burrito" drains will be installed along the north side of the trail. Hand work of cleaning out ditches, cutting and laying out fabric, and smoothing the fill and other finish work.

August 27th & 28th Turnpike Gravel Fill

September 1st, 3rd, 8th, and 10th - Footbridge Construction

Bring: Shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows.
Weather and seasonally appropriate clothing and boots recommended. Water and snacks will be provided. Please call 378-4402 for more details.
